Looking for Dynamic Board Members for Exciting Roles

For more than 55 years, Greater Victoria Citizens’ Counselling Centre has provided accessible, sliding scale counselling to residents who might otherwise go without support. We need board members who want to help build what comes next and we’re looking for people who get things done.

1) Secretary. You’ll keep the board’s official records, from accurate minutes to the director and member registers required under the Societies Act. Two year term, roughly 1-2 hours per month beyond the 2-hour monthly board meeting itself, a good entry point if you’re newer to governance.

Send a brief letter of interest to the Board Chair, GVCCC care of our Executive Director,  Holt Sivak at holt@citizenscounselling.com

2) Member at Large. A newly created seat for someone with prior board experience who is inspired by the opportunity to participate in the community on a not-for-profit Board. You’ll join full board meetings, get close to the strategic and governance work already underway, and contribute directly through committee work. Two year term, standard Board meeting commitment of 2-hours per month plus 1 to 3 hours per month on a committee.
